We are all well, but the Alfa is totaled.
What happened: an oncoming truck spun out of control right in front of us. We speculate that the driver was trying to make a u-turn without slowing down. It was raining, so the roads were a little slick (the roads on Guam are paved with crushed coral, which gets quite slippery when it's wet). There was nothing we could do. Nick braked as hard as he could, but we t-boned the truck on its passenger's side. The trim from the front of Nick's car ended up in the bed of the pickup truck.
Fortunately - fortunately! - everyone is going to be ok, including the driver. So, we're grateful. I think I'm still willing to call it good luck that in such a bad accident, we weren't sent to the hospital. We had our PA friend check us out - Nick has a bruised eyeball, and I have a bruised or sprained hand, and we're both feeling pain from whiplash, but we're basically safe and sound. Nick wants to make sure everyone knows that he's not going blind or anything as far as he knows. We're taking tylenol and taking it easy...
and mourning for our car. The other driver was insured, but that car is irreplaceable on Guam.

Of course we're glad that everyone is okay, but I am very very sad for the Alpha. That's the coolest car anyone's owned in a long time! (Anyone that I know anyway.)
