S is also for Singing

We didn't make it to Smokin' Wheels after all! Well, really, it is all the way on the other side of the island - ten miles away! And we were just tired out after the busy-ness of last week; and it was so hot outside...

So we stuck to our little neighborhood and watched a choral concert Sunday afternoon. Carol, the woman who was so kind and helpful to us when we arrived here, is a member of the chorale. After the concert we got chinese food with Carol and a few other friends and chorale members.

The concert was great - they sang five or six short songs, then followed the intermission with a massively long and complicated choral work, Lux Aeterna. We were told afterwards that they had made a couple of mistakes in singing, but we couldn't tell - they sounded very good, very professional. I am thinking about trying out for it - I was in choirs in high school and undergrad - but it seems like a big time commitment and I am not sure if I want to have any obligations until we're settled down...
