Good Times!

Yesterday was our second softball game! 

Nick only got one at-bat, and he walked... there was some wind, and the pitcher just wasn't throwing good pitches. Nick was subbed in toward the end of the game, because the coach was giving people a chance to play this time who hadn't played last time (like me!) ... 

I had two at-bats: for the first, I struck out - boo! - actually hit two foul balls, but in this league fouls count as strikes. For the second at-bat, I hit the ball straight, got on base and sent a runner home! Mostly due to the other team's error, but I'll take what I can get! This was after three balls and two strikes, with two outs... err... I didn't actually know there were already two outs. That's probably a good thing... 

For once, the weather was really mild - a mostly-cloudy sky, which kept the sun off. With the breeze (which has been with us in some form since last Friday's crazy weather pattern) it was a very pleasant afternoon to be outside. Once the game was over, there were some snacks and some drinks and some more softball to see - ours was the first game, so there was plenty to watch afterwards. 

Oh yeah - we did lose the game - by a margin of about twelve points - but we did better than at our first game, when we trailed by over fifteen after the third inning, and the Mercy Rule ended the game early...
