The aircon guy didn't show up yesterday.
I had an unexpected phone call - from the landlady's son! He lives on the island! I have his phone number now!
He said yesterday that he would arrange for someone to take care of our aircon, and he'd keep in touch. So, this is hopeful news - at least, he is someone we can really communicate with. Yes!
But the aircon isn't fixed yet...

ReplyDeleteWe don't have any here either. Actually, we never will. When our landlord/friends come in a couple of weeks they'll set up the swamp cooler for the year, but in the meantime, we're dealing with 90 degree weather sometimes with no cooling at all. It's not unbearable by any means, and I kind of like how much we'll appreciate Swampy when he finally DOES come on, hopefully in time for the hundred degree weather that's coming up!
Yikes! I had never heard of swamp coolers before you moved to Utah. I can't believe they actually work... but I guess they do!

The scary thing is all of the maintenance and stuff you have to do before you can turn them on. And then there's this rumor that sometimes they blow toxic mold all over the house... but I suspect that's if you're skipping the maintenance, which we will not be doing.
