Last night we had softball practice - it turned my shoes from green to brown:
And it was a lot of fun! There are 20 or more people on the team, so there's not a lot of danger of me (Brookie) playing in a game anytime soon - Nick, on the other hand, proved his worth at bat AND in the field last night, and I'd bet he'll get on the starting lineup.
I was wrong about it being a self-pitch league, by the way - it'll be the other guys pitching at us. The team coach told us last night that the point is to have fun, but also to win. The first part will be easy - everyone on the team seems to be full of fun and good spirits. Will we win some, too? I guess it depends on how bad the other teams are!
