scuba redooba

Last night we tried again to learn how to scuba, and we had much more success than last time! It may have simply been a matter of getting used to the equipment, or taking time to go over things slowly, or not being as tired, or having better weather, or being one week farther along in getting used to living on Guam ... somehow, it all worked out and we feel much more confident now. We swam ALL OVER that swimming pool! 

I still don't expect that we will be advancing far in the scuba world - there are all kinds of advanced skills to learn, that involve things we're not particularly excited about  - like diving deep, and diving in strong currents, and everything else that sounds dangerous and scary! - but we should be fine to go on easy, calm, shallow sunlit dives with supervision and good visibility. And (as far as I know or can predict) that's all we really want to do, anyways. We may go on our first ocean dive this weekend!
